Jan Stifter

CEO & Board Member
Jan Stifter has been involved in the development and marketing of computer assisted surgery since 1998. He served as Director Navigation in a multinational orthopedic enterprise before founding Medivation in 2009. He has been elected CEO of Naviswiss in April 2017. Jan Stifter graduated in engineering and computer science from the university of applied sciences in Brugg, Switzerland and earned an executive MBA from Private University for Economics in Zurich.

Christian Calame

Head of Sales and Marketing
Christian Calame has over 30 years of experience in the biomedical industry. In his professional career he served in several roles in engineering, product management, marketing and sales in the field of computer assisted orthopedic surgery, intensive care ventilators and biomechanics. At Naviswiss he is responsible for product management and sales in selected indirect markets. Christian Calame has degrees in electrical and biomedical engineering as well as degree in marketing from KS St. Gallen.

Dan Moore

CCO US
Dan Moore has spent his career in medical technology, specifically surgical navigation, robotics and imaging. Spanning over 22 years, he has held leadership positions with two Fortune 500 medical device companies as well as driving commercialization efforts with several disruptive start-ups, expanding their business and brand. After founding Ascend Medical Consulting, he joined Naviswiss in 2019 as CCO USA to bring their innovative surgical navigation platform to the US market.

Tristan Jones

Executive Vice President US
Tristan Jones has spent over 17 years in the medical technology industry, with a diversity of global leadership roles across sales, marketing, product development and commercialization, primarily focused on driving innovation within the orthopedic space. Tristan joined Naviswiss in 2023 as the Executive Vice President for the US business. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in Applied Science and master’s degrees in both Physiotherapy and Business Administration.

Domenico Romeo

Quality Manager
Domenico Romeo’s medical device journey spans nearly two decades with increasing leadership responsibilities. His roles in the medical device field cover from Head of R&D and product development up to quality management. He joined Naviswiss AG as Quality Manager in summer 2020 and is overseeing all quality, regulatory and instrument development activities. Domenico Romeo holds a degree in polymechanics and graduated in mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Scieneces Northwestern Switzerland.

Michael Putscher

CCO
Michael Putscher has a proven track record of driving growth through excellence in leadership and commercialization in the medical device field. In previous roles he led commercial, marketing and product innovation organizations with global market leaders in orthopedics and implant dentistry. As a member of the leadership team, Michael Putscher is overseeing Naviswiss’ commercial, marketing and market expansion activities. He holds degrees in business administration and marketing and completed an executive program at Harvard.

Alejandro Gonzalez Della Valle, MD

Chief of the Hip Service, Hospital for Special Surgery, New York (USA)
Dr. Alejandro Gonzalez Della Valle has been devoted to hip and knee replacement surgery since 1997. He is a Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill-Cornell Medical College and has co-authored over 200 peer-review publications and book chapters. He is a member of AAOS, AAHKS, the American Hip Society and the European Knee Society.

Stefan Kreuzer, MD, Msc

Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Co-Founder INOV8 Orthopedics, Houston, USA
As a joint replacement surgeon, Stefan Kreuzer, MD, has pioneered the development in Minimally-Invasive and Computer-Assisted hip and knee replacement surgery. He is a board member of ISTA and chairman of the Masters Course on Anterior Hip Replacement Surgery with ICJR in Houston.
He graduated from medical school at the University of Texas in San Antonio in 1995, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas in Galveston, Texas followed by a fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at the Baylor College in Houston, Texas in 2001.

Dr. Andreas Ottersbach

Head of the Orthopedic Clinic at the Spitalzentrum Oberwallis, Brig (Switzerland)
Dr. Andreas Ottersbach focuses in particular on hip and knee joint replacement in combination with minimally invasive techniques and navigation. For the intraoperative control of leg length, he cooperated in the development of a navigation system and is using it routinely.
Dr. Andreas Ottersbach is the first surgeon in Switzerland to introduce the Rapid Recovery treatment concept. Furthermore, he is pushing digitalization in the operating room to increase patient safety.

Dr. Spyridon Armpis

Director of Orthopedic Surgery, Metropolitan General Hospital, Athens, Greece
Dr. Spyridon Armpis, is director at the first Greek FAST TRACK Knee and Hip Arthroplasty Clinic, doing 450 cases per year and using robotics and navigation systems.
Dr. Spyridon Armpis was born in Montreal, Canada. He performed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the 2nd Orthopaedic Clinic of the K.A.T. Hospital of Athens. After that he in Los Angeles, at the IRCAD-EITS University Hospital in Strasbourg, at the Queen Mary and King George Hospitals, Romford, London and at Broomfield Hospital, Essex. In 2016 he completed his MSc in Sports Medicine after 2 years with an award from the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne.
After a honorary scholarship from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in 2016 he worked and trained at the Hospital for Special Surgery before establishing at Metropolitan General Hospital in Athens, Greece.

Dr. Geert Peersman

Dr. G. Peersman received his doctorate as a physician in 1995 and as a specialist in orthopedic surgery in 2001 from the University of Antwerp.
After this training he followed an additional specialization in knee replacement surgery at the 'Hospital for Special Surgery' in New York with Prof. R. Laskin. The scientific work he performed there formed the basis of his doctoral thesis. In 2011 he became a Doctor of Medical Sciences (PhD) on the thesis "Identification of risk factors for infection and loosening of total knee replacements".
Besides his specific interests in general orthopedics and traumatology, he also has extensive experience in the field of knee replacement surgery and treatment of sports injuries of the knee. Numerous international publications and lectures both at national and international symposia are witness to this.
He is a member of the Belgian Association of Orthopedics and Traumatology (B.V.O.T) and of the Belgian Knee Society (B.K.S). He is also club doctor of RAFC Antwerp and doctor of the motocross rescue team of the VLM.

Dr. David Liu is currently a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at John Flynn Private Hospital and Honorary Adjunct Associate Professor at Bond University. He is a member of the Arthroplasty Society of Australia, Scientific Committee of Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Society and Editorial Board of Knee Surgery and Related Research.

Assoc. Prof. John Ireland is a VMO at Campbelltown Private Hospital and an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics, at the Graduate school of Medicine, University of Wollongong.
He was formerly the Head of Orthopaedics at Liverpool and Chairman of the Whitlam Joint Replacement Centre at Fairfield Hospital.

Peter Hotz is a lead investor in Naviswiss. He founded his own company Trenew Electronic AG in 1988. Trenew is a supplier of backplanes, power supplies, electronics packaging and complete solutions for the European industrial, telecom, logistics, medical and military market. Trenew's development team has more than 30 years experience in industrial, medical and optical applications.

Raimund Erdmann joined the Board of Directors of Naviswiss in 2016. He studied Industrial Design at the Zurich University of Design. In 1977 Raimund Erdmann founded the consultancy Erdmann Design for Medical Design and Corporate Branding. Since then Erdmann Design AG develops Human Centered Design for international corporate clients. Raimund Erdmann teaches Experience Design-Methodes at Swiss and American Universities.

Jean-Pierre Frottier

Jean-Pierre Frottier has been working as consultant and Lead Investor for the financial round A (2013) for Naviswiss before accepting the role as interim CEO from January 2013 until April 2017. Jean-Pierre Frottier graduated in mechanical engineering at the Swiss Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich (1978) and received his MBA at Harvard Business School (1984). He has worked for a leading strategic consultancy before successfully running his own company.

Roman Iselin has studied business administration in St. Gallen and thereafter made an impressive career in multinational medtech enterprises. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Naviswiss AG since 2019.

Clement Spiess

Board Member
Clement Spiess, Managing Director of Investys SA, has been one of the early investors in Naviswiss AG since 2013. While still studying sound engineering in Germany, he founded a company and worked in the recording industry for ten years. In 2005, he joined the Family Office Investys as an investment manager and has been CEO for 15 years. Clement Spiess received his EMBA from the University of Applied Sciences St-Gallen HSG in 2008.

Christian Walsoe

Christian Walsoe studied Chemical Engineering at the Swiss Institute of Technology in Zürich and Business Administration at Insead in Fontainebleau (F). He has many years of experience in building new organizational units in multinational corporations as well as in financing and running start-ups in different technological fields. He is co-founder of Naviswiss and has acted as CFO from the foundation of Naviswiss until 2019.

Stephan Wintsch has been CEO of GRAPHA-Holding AG since 2014. Previously, he was CEO of Zug Estates Group (2012 - 2014) and CEO (2008 - 2012) and CFO (2004 - 2008) of Metall Zug AG. He studied business administration in St. Gallen and Rochester and completed his MBA. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Naviswiss AG since 2017.
